Purim is like the Jewish Halloween, Carnival, and St. Patrick's Day all rolled up into one. By the time you can read this, you'll probably know that. There are just a couple of rules for Purim. One of them is that you should listen to a reading of the "Megillah," the "scroll"—meaning the Book of Esther. (The other one is that you're supposed to get very, very drunk but that's not for babies.)
So we got together with everyone at Temple Ner Shalom tonight to hear the Megillah. You're supposed to make noise, boo, or use a noisemaker when the name of a bad dude is read from the scroll. Here's a picture of you holding a grogger, a noisemaker. You did a good job making noise with it once or twice, but I think you thought it was something to eat most of the time.
That's Arie and Isaac's mom there behind you trying to help Arie out. He had a great cow costume on. I forgot your lion hat because you didn't want it when I got you ready.
Here you are with Jayne and Steve Cohen. You need to remember them. They are special to you. Steve was the kohen who redeemed you to me at your Pidyon HaBen, an important Jewish life cycle event. They wanted to borrow you because they were having grandchild withdrawl.
There you are with Uncle Leo, that's Tio Leo in Portuguese. You get a little upset at all the booing and noise, but for a TinyLittleBaby® you did a great job the last few days spending all this time in the synagogue.
Always remember the lesson of Purim: they tried to kill us; we won; let's eat!
